Ivan is a minimalist floor lamp designed by Copenhagen-based Jonas Trampedach, created for Værktoj 1, a collaborative exhibition exploring the creative possibilities of metal bending.
Featuring works by Frederik Gustav, Jonas Trampedach, Kasper Salto, and Michael Antrobus, the project centers on the use of the Gressel HB14—a hand-operated bar bender typically found in industrial settings. Although each designer brings a distinct perspective, the exhibition presents a cohesive body of work shaped by a shared process, emphasizing how tools influence both design thinking and the final outcome.
Trampedach’s Ivan lamp reflects this concept with clarity and precision. Composed of two flat aluminum bars bent at exact 45-degree angles, the structure frames an L-profile that houses the light source. The lamp is available in three variants: two designed for directional lighting, and one that offers a more diffuse, ambient glow. Through this piece, Trampedach illustrates how manual shaping techniques can inform not just the form, but also the functionality of a product—aligning perfectly with the exhibition’s focus on the dialogue between craftsmanship and design.
