Caravista is a minimalist lighting piece created by the Madrid-based architecture studio Maximale. Starting from the simple brick, designers Pablo Delgado and Cristina Garau reimagined this essential construction material into a unique lighting object. Entirely handcrafted in the local area, the lamp is composed of two ceramic blocks bonded with mortar, featuring a delicate paper diffuser that softens the light as it escapes through eight apertures on each side.
Marking Maximale’s debut in product design, Caravista distinguishes itself through its modular character. Thanks to the brick’s structured form, it can be easily adapted into various configurations, offering different numbers of openings and a range of colours. This versatility enables it to function as a table lamp, wall fixture, or portable light, seamlessly fitting into a variety of interiors.
The name ‘Caravista’ nods to a type of brick often used for exposed façades in architecture, highlighting an appreciation for authentic and unrefined materials. With this project, the studio translates its architectural language into a lighting piece that exudes a warm and playful charm.
